A city that is looked to as a model of good government. A place where our innovative and collaborative approach sets the stage for a vibrant local economy while respecting our citizens and the environment!

In 2014 we made history when we introduced AbbotsfordFIRST and four of our candidates were elected to serve on the Abbotsford council. In 2018, the city of Abbotsford re-elected and reaffirmed our mandate and vision for the future of Abbotsford.

The AbbotsfordFIRST platform - Leadership. Accountability. Respect. - continues to guide us as an organization and is solidly reflected in the ‘Four Cornerstones’ governance model adopted by Abbotsford City Council. The 4 cornerstones - Vibrant Economy, Complete Community, Fiscal Discipline & Organizational Alignment guide the City in achieving its stated vision as the ‘Economic and Cultural HUB of the Fraser Valley’.

AbbotsfordFIRST is an electoral organization that nominates and endorses leaders in our community that we believe would make exceptional city councillors. The AbbotsfordFIRST team works together to campaign on behalf of our endorsed candidates and is not involved in governing. Each AbbotsfordFIRST councillor makes decisions independently.
